Lamp Designation

Following are a number of examples of LIF (Lighting Industry Federation) codes:

T lamps are tubular shaped lamps intended for use in theatre luminaires. Their color temperature is 2900K to 3500 K and they have a long rated life.   CP denotes lamps that are meant for theatre, cinema, or television applications. These lamps produce a color temperature of 3200K.
  P1 are lamps used in luminaires without lenses. They produce a color temperature of 3400K.

P2 lamps are designed for use in luminaires without a lens.   A1 lamps are designed for projection machines.
